Green Education and Training
Green Education and Training Project helps schools to set up and run a student-led environmental programme, supporting young people to lead projects such as energy saving and encouraging walking to school, helping to inspire their school and community to go green. It builds their leadership, communication and teamwork skills as well as their confidence, resilience and wellbeing.
Green Education and Training Project is an exciting programme for primary and secondary pupils as well as young entrepreneurs through re-skilling workshops, which will transform the attitudes and behavior of every participating school community towards the local and wider environment. Taking part can save a school on energy costs, while helping students to build important skills that will help them to achieve their potential.
Project receive expert visits to deliver an assembly, staff training, and energy saving support, and are matched with a university student volunteer who will help to coordinate and run an Eco-Team of pupils. It facilitates fun student-led activities with guides, resources and templates that are easy to follow and ready to use.
Students carrying out the projects have access to an online interactive system where they are set tasks and can upload evidence that they have achieved them, gaining points. This encourages them to take the lead on the projects, helping them to develop valuable skills such as communication, leadership, teamwork and problem solving.
Green Education and Training is also a network and community of environmentally friendly Workshops, with competitions to drive engagement, and links to businesses to help with progression into university and the workplace.

Green Skill Development
Studies show that the world would need a huge requirement of green skills in the future. It is of paramount importance that schools and other educational institutions realize the importance of green skills and work towards developing a generation equipped with skills to meet the employment needs of the future. Education institutes should realize why students need green education and how to enlighten them about sustainable development and how they can choose a career path that would help them to land a job that the climate action would offer. The Indian government has reinforced the importance of green skills through the establishment of the GSDP (GSDP full form- Green Skill Development Programme).
